Water Cleanliness
Posted on February 23rd, 2009 No commentsDid you know that filtered tap water in major cities in the US is actually found to be cleaner as well as more regulated than expensive (overpriced) bottled water?
It’s true! Well, to an extent…. For the most part, it’s true up to the point it reaches your house. If your pipes are dirty with contaminants from the copper or whatever pipes you have, then you have a problem.
Also, keep in mind I said filtered tap water. You need to pass it through one of those Britas or PURs or any of those types of home filters. This relates to the above. The water can pick up contaminants on the way to your cup. Additionally, the water department adds chlorine to kill bacteria that could be picked up on the way.
These filters should get rid of a lot.Yes, with all these facts I just told you, filtered tap water is still considered better than bottled water.
So, ask yourself, what’s going on with that bottled water of yours? -
Kill Joy
Posted on February 1st, 2009 No commentsWord of the day: Kill Joy.
Well, 2 words really… I’m not really expecting that many words of the day though so don’t count on it.
First, lets look up a couple of definitions.
One who causes gloom or grief; a dispiriting person; a spoilsport.
-The Free Dictionary
A person who is anti-fun, or prevents others from having fun.
-Wikipedia
One who spoils the pleasure of others.
-Merriam-Webster
———————Alright so we got an idea of the meaning of the word.
Why is it the word of the day?
Because, PEOPLE you need to not become kill joys!
Live life to the fullest (in a happy way).
That includes not ruining other people’s fun. -
Push-Ups
Posted on January 11th, 2009 No commentsThe other day I saw a guy doing the worst push-ups ever.
This has gone too far. People really need to know how to do a proper push-up.
It’s a great low cost exercise since you don’t need ridiculously expensive equipment.
Push-ups are great for your upper-body and will achieve goals like toning and gaining strength.First off: Your palms should be around shoulder level and a little more than shoulder width apart.
You need to keep your body straight. Do NOT bend or arch your legs or upper or low back.
As you lift, you should exhale. When you reach the maximum height, pause for a little.
Lower yourself slowly until your chest touches the floor. Your knees should not be touching the floor.
Again, no back bending! Pause at the bottom then repeat. -
Running
Posted on January 5th, 2009 No commentsToday I went running and decided running is not my thing.
I do not enjoy it in the least bit.
It’s just tiring and annoying all throughout. But the day after… That soreness is AMAZING!
Do something fun to work out. Go rock climbing or play racquetball.
You’ll still get that soreness feeling if you push yourself hard enough.

Detect Lies
Posted on January 3rd, 2009 No commentsWant to know if someone is lying?
It’s all about the body language.
When someone is lying their body language will resemble these qualities:
• Physical expression will become stiff with few arm and hand movements.
• A person who is lying to you will avoid making eye contact. Or make too much eye contact.
• Many times someone lying will touch their face, throat & mouth. Additionally, touching or scratching the nose or behind their ear is a big sign.
